Several Chinese embassies and consulates have issued notices on their websites to adjust their visa policies for overseas visits to China lately.

1. Exemption of Visa Invitation Letters for Personnel Going to China for Employment

Recently, the websites of the embassy in Austria, the embassy in Germany, and the embassy in the Czech Republic have all issued notices stating that from now on, for those who have been approved by the Chinese domestic authorities to work in China, the pre-epidemic policy will be resumed. Applicants can apply for a work visa with a valid "Foreigner Work Permit" or "Foreigner Work Permit Notice" without submitting a visa invitation letter issued by the relevant Chinese government department.

2. Exemption of visa invitation letter for family members of those returning to work and production

The website of the embassy in Austria states that foreign family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents of spouses) of people who have resumed work and production (including foreigners who have worked in China) can apply to come to China with proof of kinship for a residence or family visit visa, there is no need to submit a visa invitation letter issued by the relevant government department in China.

The website of the embassy in Germany also stated that those who resume work and production in China can apply for a work visa with a valid "Foreigner Work Permit" or "Foreigner Work Permit Notice". Foreign family members of the above-mentioned persons (including foreigners who have worked in China) can apply for visas to live or visit relatives in China with only proof of kinship and other materials. Family members include spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, and parents of spouses.

3.Expand the scope of personnel going to China for humanitarian reasons

According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in the Czech Republic, on the basis of current funerals and visits to critically ill relatives, foreign family members of Chinese citizens and foreigners with permanent residence status in China (spouse, parents, parents-in-law, children, spouses of children, siblings, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren) can apply for the corresponding type of visa to go to China for a reunion or visit relatives.

4. Adjust the scope of accepting visas to China

According to the website of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, starting from June 20, the scope of accepting visas to China includes 6 categories of personnel, followed by foreigners and their families who are engaged in diplomatic, official activities or meet the conditions for courtesy visas; Foreigners and their families engaged in resumption of work and production in various fields; Chinese citizens who go to China for family reunion or short-term family visits and foreign family members of foreigners with permanent residence status in China, including: foreign spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, spouses of children, siblings, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren, grandchildren; Foreigners engaged in flight attendant activities; Foreigners going to China for funerals or visiting critically ill relatives; Other personnel who have been approved by the relevant domestic authorities to go to China.

5. Update processing procedures and material requirements

The Chinese consulate in South Korea, the embassy in Singapore and the embassy in Indonesia have all released new application procedures and material requirements on their websites, most of which include filling out the visa application form online, making an appointment online for the time to submit the application,Submit the application in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center and keep ten fingerprints.

The updated procedures and material requirements for visas for business, work, and family visits in China are as follows:

①. Fill in the visa application form online (https://bio.visaforchina.org/SEL4_ZH/), print out the confirmation page and form, and sign on the confirmation page and item 9 of the form.

②. Make an appointment online to submit the application and print out the visa appointment confirmation form.

③. Submit the application in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center at the appointment time and keep ten fingerprints.

*The following persons are exempt from taking fingerprints:

① Persons under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;

② Persons holding diplomatic passports or those who meet the conditions for China's diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;

③ Persons who have been issued a visa at the same embassy or consulate with the same passport within five years and have kept fingerprints;

④ Persons whose ten fingers are missing or whose fingerprints cannot be retained. ​​

Persons exempted from taking fingerprints can entrust others to submit visa applications.

6. In principle, the new crown vaccine should be vaccinated

The embassy in Austria, the embassy in Germany, and the embassy in Indonesia all stated in their notices that before entering China, foreigners should in principle be vaccinated with the new coronary pneumonia vaccine approved by China or the World Health Organization for emergency use or marketing.

In addition, the embassy in South Korea and the embassy in Singapore require the submission of a new crown pneumonia vaccination certificate in the visa application materials.
